THE ENERGY IN ACTION
Defined in Chart: Individuals with Gate 17 defined in their charts may have a natural inclination towards forming strong opinions. They possess the potential to use these opinions as starting points for deeper exploration and understanding.
Sun Transit: When the sun transits through Gate 17, it brings a collective focus on how our opinions shape our perception of the world. It's a time to examine our beliefs and consider how they can be expanded to encompass a more far-sighted perspective.
The high-frequency expression is the energy for creating logical solutions, answers, and opinions by examining broad perspectives and seeking to remain fair and unbiased.
The low-frequency expression is being trapped in black-and-white thinking, leading one to be dogmatic, authoritative, and mentally inflexible.
My personal experience:
I do not have this energy defined in my chart, however, I have my conscious earth in 62, which is on the other side of this channel. Gate 62, location of my conscious earth, is that of details - and yes, I have always felt as though I have all the details, all the dots to connect, however I have felt challenged in organizing and structuring these 'dots' for expression I have many, many times said, "this makes perfect sense in my head!" Which, of course, makes absolute sense considering 62 is the only defined gate in my throat and without 17, this challenge makes sense. Especially since in Gene Keys, your conscious earth represents a challenge you came to ground your expression through.
Human Design Gate 17: Cultivating Vision and Understanding Beyond Opinions
Transcending Limitations: From Opinion to Omniscience
This Gate is part of the Channel of Acceptance, A Design of an Organizational Being, linking the Ajna Center (Gate 17) to the Throat Center (Gate 62). Gate 17 is part of the Collective Understanding (Logic) Circuit with the keynote of sharing.
Gate 17 looks for one concept or opinion among many that we can all trust - one that will survive both testing and criticism, and calm our fears about the future. Gate 17 is designed to structure an answer into a concept, a workable pattern or a possible solution in preparation for Gate 62's substantiating details. Up to this point in the logic process, our mind has taken a doubt about the future, formulated a potential solution, and now feels pressured to express it as an opinion. What it needs next is Gate 62's ability to translate the concept into language, to support it with facts and details, and present it to the public for their examination and analysis.
Our right eye takes in the world at a glance, seeing it as a collection of recognizable, visual patterns. If a pattern or an opinion cannot stand up to logic's scrutiny, it will be or should be rejected. Unfortunately, we cannot always translate our visual image or what we understand about it, into language. Without Gate 62, we will find ourselves looking for a name to represent our concepts, for facts to support our opinions, and for an effective means to communicate our suggestions. Mental anxiety for us arises out of the fear that no one will understand and value our input.
Gene Key 17: Expanding Perspectives from Opinion to Universal Insight
The Journey from Narrow Views to Vast Understanding
“How can we harm another when we realise that they’re a part of us? How can we harm another when we’re feeling so good? The 17th Siddhi is part of the tradition of sudden awakening. When someone sees through their denial, it shatters them wide open to the core. This is St.Paul on the road to Damascus; this is a thunderbolt.”
– Richard Rudd, 64 Ways
Gene Key 17, named "The Eye," represents a transformative path from the Shadow of Opinion to the Siddhi of Omniscience, with the Gift of Far-sightedness serving as the crucial intermediary. This pathway underscores the evolution from limited personal perspectives to an expansive and all-encompassing vision.
Shadow - Opinion:
- The Shadow of Opinion in Gene Key 17 reflects the limitations imposed by personal biases and subjective viewpoints. This shadow can lead to a rigid mindset, where one's own views are seen as the ultimate truth, often hindering deeper understanding and empathy.
- Personal Application: Recognize areas where personal opinions may be limiting your perception. Challenge yourself to look beyond your immediate viewpoints, understanding that they are just a part of a larger, more complex reality. Use differing perspectives as opportunities to expand your understanding and to foster open-mindedness.
Gift - Far-sightedness:
- The Gift of Far-sightedness involves the ability to see beyond the immediate and superficial, embracing a broader and more inclusive perspective. It’s about understanding the bigger picture and recognizing the interconnectedness of various viewpoints and experiences.
- Personal Application: Develop far-sightedness by consciously expanding your viewpoint. Seek to understand different perspectives and the broader implications of situations. This broader vision allows for more informed and compassionate decisions, bridging gaps between differing views and fostering greater harmony.
Siddhi - Omniscience:
- The Siddhi of Omniscience represents a transcendent state of universal understanding and insight. In this state, knowledge transcends the intellectual and enters the realm of direct, holistic knowing, perceiving the interconnectedness and deeper truths of existence.
- Personal Application: Cultivate a state of consciousness that embraces omniscience, where understanding is not just intellectual but intuitive and all-encompassing. Embrace the notion that true wisdom comes from a deep connection to the universal flow, transcending personal biases and limitations.
Conclusion
Gene Key 17 invites us on a journey from the confines of narrow opinions, through the broadening lens of far-sightedness, to the expansive realm of omniscience. This path teaches us the value of embracing diverse perspectives, leading to a more profound and comprehensive understanding of life and our place within it.
